got it., i was still in the tools directory when i tried it. went to the NT directory, it complained that the files date was in the future. set it to 2020, seems to go ok for now. if needed, i'll try again later with another date.

ArgNoCert stops it from adding testcert.cer to your machine, which the postbuild does seem to require for signing
If that arg isn't set it uses some certmgr tool to add the cert, but I don't have that yet, guess it needs to be built.
I think you can run it manually with these commands

>tools\CheckTestPCA.cmd
Once buildx is all finished and certmgr is built running those should add the certs, then maybe using "postbuild" command will work fine

Just test certs, nothing special, there is a private key for the uxtheme .theme files but I dunno if anyone verified it matches the released pub key

Alright yeah those two scripts work fine, just open a new cmd prompt, init razzle with "tools/razzle offline", and run the two CheckTest commands in >>77913475
Hopefully postbuild will work with the test certs now, it might need ArgEnigmaSigning though but I'm not sure yet

Im building right now.

I can see that the build creates 3 logs:
One is for general logging
Other for warnings
Other for errors

So far, in the errors log i see some files that are missing, and in the warning i see some libs failing to be imported.

If anything strange pops up, I'll post the info

Have now set up a second physical machine (i5 760, 4GB DDR3, 120GB SSD which is installing XP SP3!
If anyone wants me to experiment once it's done installing let me know
The i5 760 is quad core @ 2.8ghz so should go a lot quicker than the E8400 that's compiling 2003, and the SSD should help too!

anyone got any info on the next postbuild part and certs?

To setup certs you can just run razzle like

It'll error out because you don't have the source control stuff they use, but before it errors it'll install the certs for you
Then close down that cmd prompt and open a new one and use the offline razzle

I extracted it so NT folder from the leak was inside C:\xpsrc\
then renamed NT to xpclient
then opened cmd and ran "subst D: C:\xpsrc\", so C:\xpsrc\ folder would get mounted as D:

for all we know maybe somethings messed up on my end and it's not printing errors properly, maybe retail flag hides them or something

Progress so far
the E8400 with spinning rust has been running 3 times longer than the i5 760 with SSD

the E8400 is at 844mb compared to the i5 at 1.68gb

that i5 is going to be done way sooner!

Seems like timebuild.pl handles creating the C:\filtered.x86 folder and moving shit around into the svcpack stuff. I'm running the commands inside it seperately and it seems to be working fine so far

SP1 is already insecure.
We don’t have sources for the subsequent fixes. This source release is useless for security purposes. It can’t harm a fully patched XP machine at all.
If we want a useful rebuild we also have to reverse engineer the security fixes... a long task but plausible.
